ACTSHEON™: Reclaim Your Energy Through 5 Mindful Self-Care Practices

anchor Apr 30, 2025
We women leaders are incredible. We juggle deadlines, carry teams, nurture families, show up in boardrooms, kitchens, communities. But honestly: this level of energy isn't infinite. If you’re feeling drained lately, hear me loud and clear: it's not because you're failing—it's because you're HUMAN.

Hey beautiful soul.

We, as women leaders, are incredible. We juggle deadlines, carry teams, nurture families, show up in boardrooms, kitchens, communities—you name it. But let’s be honest: this level of energy is not infinite.

Our energy is everything. It’s the fuel for our dreams, our leadership, our ability to lift others up. And yet, how often do we protect it with the fierce love it deserves?

If you’re feeling a little drained lately (or a lot), hear me loud and clear: it's not because you're failing—it's because you're HUMAN.

And the good news?

You can reclaim your energy. You can protect it. You can even amplify it, starting today.

This is a rally cry for women, like you, to put yourself back at the center of your own life.

Because when you prioritize yourself, you elevate everything around you.

Today, I want to walk you through five anchoring mindful self-care practices that are deceptively simple but radically effective. They aren’t your typical "bubble bath and journal" suggestions (although, Girl, if you love those—do it!).

These are soul-nourishing, energy-reviving moves that you can start right now.

Let’s dive in:

1. Silent Mornings: The Art of Sacred Quiet

Okay, hear me out—no phone, no podcast, no emails for the first 30 minutes after you wake up.

Nothing but your breath, your heartbeat, and the slow, sweet unfolding of a new day.

Why?

Because the moment you check your phone, you’re plugging into everyone else’s energy and expectations. Silent mornings create a sacred space where your energy belongs solely to YOU.

Anchor Tip: Start with just 5 minutes if 30 feels overwhelming. Sip tea by the window. Breathe deeply. Stretch. Listen to your soul's whisper before the world's noise kicks in.

Seriously, no excuses—5 minutes could change your whole day.

2. Energy Check-Ins: The "Hell Yes" or "Hard Pass" Method

Too often, we say yes out of habit, guilt, or obligation. But every “yes” that isn't a full-body HELL YES is a slow leak in your energy tank.

Energy check-ins are a mindfulness practice where you pause before committing to anything—from meetings to social invites, asking yourself:

"Does this feel expansive or draining?"

If it doesn’t expand you, it’s a hard pass. No apologies.

Anchor Tip: Practice saying, “Thanks for thinking of me, but I’ll have to pass this time,” with tact and firmness. Watch your energy levels transform when you start honoring your intuitive “No.”

3. 5-Minute Micro-Meditations (Even Between Meetings)

Meditation isn’t just for monks in the mountains. You don’t need an hour, a fancy cushion, or a special mantra. You need 5 minutes—and a willingness to pause.

In the chaos of a leader’s day, 5 minutes can be the difference between spiraling into overwhelm or reconnecting to your power.

Anchor Tip: Set a timer between big meetings. Close your eyes. Inhale for 4 counts. Exhale for 8 counts. Repeat. Let your nervous system reset. Let your brilliance rise.

4. "Joy Alarms" to Interrupt Stress Spirals

We’re conditioned to wait for joy—vacations, weekends, milestones.

But not anymore.

Joy is a daily nutrient. Not a rare reward.

Set random alarms on your phone (or watch) labeled "JOY BREAK."

When it goes off, you have permission—no, the sacred assignment—to do something that delights you for 2-3 minutes. Dance. Sing. Step outside and feel the sun. Call (not text) a bestie to remind them you miss their face. Do whatever brings you joy.

Anchor Tip: Treat joy like a vitamin. Schedule doses. Take them seriously. Joy is not frivolous—it’s fuel.

If you can reply to three emails, you can take 3 minutes for yourself.

Priorities, Sis.

5. Radical Completion Rituals

So many women leaders carry around energetic clutter—half-finished projects, lingering resentments, unspoken dreams. This weighs down your spirit more than you realize.

Radical completion means creating space by finishing what’s nagging at you—or consciously releasing it.

Anchor Tip: Once a week, sit down with a piece of paper. Write down one thing you need to finish or release. Then either (a) take one micro-action toward completion, or (b) decide, with love, to let it go forever.

Energy flows where closure happens.
